p194nurvvb1isf3141tub4r2u232

TVXQ! SPECIAL LIVE TOUR -T1ST0RY- was the tenth anniversary tour and fifth live concert of TVXQ!. The concert tour was set two years after the TVXQ! LIVE WORLD TOUR “Catch Me” and commenced with two shows in Seoul in December 2014. TVXQ! toured four countries and six cities across Asia for a period of six months before concluding the tour with an additional two-night Seoul encore concert in June 2015. This is the second tour to include encore shows ever since the “O” tour in 2007. The tour was also the band’s last headlining tour before the duo went hiatus for two years to complete their South Korea’s military service.

The tour’s name “T1ST0RY” was derived from the combination of letter “T” from TVXQ!, and the word “History” to indicate the whole history of the band. The letters “i” and “o” in “History” are replaced with numbers “1” and “0” to represent TVXQ!’s 10th anniversary since debut. The tour was directed and produced by Beat Burger’s Shim Jae Won, who previously worked alongside with TVXQ! on the Catch Me tour.

The announcement of the tour with two shows in Seoul was made by S.M. Entertainment on October 21, 2014 through its official homepage. TVXQ! perform songs from their latest Tense album, along with some of their biggest hits including “Rising Sun”, “왜?(Keep Your Head Down)” and “Catch Me”. The show lasted for about three hours and 15 minutes. Rehearsals in the studio took place on October 22, 2014 while stage rehearsals began on November 24, 2014. TVXQ! was supported by 14 backup dancers and the duo changed into eight different sets of costumes in each show.

The ticket sales for the Seoul concert was opened to public on October 28, 2014 on Gmarket. The dates for the Beijing and Taipei stops were added to the tour on November 4, 2014 and November 6, 2014, respectively. On December 10, 2014, the concert in Shanghai was confirmed to take place in January 2015. Thai concert organizer, 4NOLOGUE, announced on March 27, 2015 that the tour will also visit Bangkok. This will mark the band’s return to Thailand as a duo after almost six years since the Mirotic tour that was also organized by 4NOLOGUE. Two Shenzhen shows were later confirmed on April 1, 2015 to be included in the tour. On April 30, 2015, the duo announced that they will be holding two encore concerts scheduled to take place in June 2015. These shows will be the encore to their Seoul concert held in December 2014.

About 36 songs were performed in each show. For the solo performances, Changmin performed “Heaven’s Day” from the Tense album while “뱅(Bang)” was self-composed, written and arranged by Yunho specifically for this tour. “ANDROID” and “Somebody To Love” were adapted into Korean in the tour. “Rising Sun(순수)” was presented through a new choreography and the band performed seven acoustic versions that were personally chosen by the members themselves from their past and current albums.

For the Seoul encore concerts, “Double Trouble” and “Rise…” were replaced with “Maximum” and a new track “Starlight”, respectively. “B.U.T (BE-AU-TY)”, “I Don’t Know” and “Show Me Your Love” were removed from the set list and were replaced with their hit songs ““O”-正.反.合.” and “주문-MIROTIC”. “풍선(Balloons)”, “꿈(Dream)” and “Hug(포옹)” were added to the Seoul encore concerts. The second session of acoustic medley was different than the original set list. Yunho composed a new song for this two-night concert “Champagne” to replace “뱅(Bang)”. Super Junior’s Donghae and Eunhyuk joined Changmin on stage for “촉이 와(Can You Feel It?)” on June 13, 2015 while EXO’s Xiumin, Baekhyun and Chen for “고등어(Mackerel)” on the following day. The TVXQ! duo recorded a new video interlude for “꿈(Dream)” for the encore shows.

S.M. Entertainment announced on June 10, 2014 that the Seoul encore shows would take place as scheduled even though there had been a MERS outbreak in South Korea. Thermal imaging cameras were placed outside the venue and at the entrances to detect an abnormal body temperatures.

  1. hello! was just wondering if you have any idea if there will be any more stops outside Asia possibly, seeing as it is a ‘world tour’?
(though I know it’s kind of hard since the boys are enlisting soon T_T)

anw would just like to say thank you so much for setting this page up, must have been a lot of hard work. And it is pretty! Minimalistic, I like (:

    • Hello Winnie,

It is still rather unclear if the tour will visit countries outside of Asia anytime soon since S.M. Entertainment made no such announcement in the beginning. Stay tuned to this page or on our social media for any further news.

We appreciate your interest on this article so be sure to check out the rest of the articles on the past and current TVXQ! & JYJ tours that we have in store for our readers! Share this page to let others know about it, too!
