TVXQ!’s Yunho Addresses Awkward Ripped Pants Incident

South Korean boyband TVXQ!’s U-Know Yunho speaks out on ripped pants incident in recent SMTOWN live concert.

TVXQ! ASIA PRESS TOUR was held yesterday morning in The Shilla Seoul Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul. The emcee of the press conference event was TV personality Han Suk Joon.

U-Know Yunho performed his new song “Drop” for first time in ‘SMTOWN LIVE WORLD TOUR VI in SEOUL’ held last month. It was also his first official appearance after his military discharge in April.

The performance had attracted a lot of attention as it was U-Know’s first ever performance in two years and the release of a solo piece. It even gathered more attention when his pants ripped on stage during the performance.

U-Know revealed in yesterday’s conference, “It is embarrassing to say this with my own mouth but there was indeed a ripped pants incident. There were rumors circulating saying if the incident was a noise marketing or a planned thing. From the beginning, I knew my pants was ripped but I did not want to interrupt the chemistry of the performance with my fans. It happened that way because I wanted to do my best.”

He continued, “I am human, too, so I read up some reactions and they were quite positive. ‘Do your best,’ ‘It was hot,’ ‘All the best,’ ‘It was manly of you to carry it on till the end,’ ‘This is TVXQ!’ and so on.”

U-Know also revealed, “This song will come out as a solo in SM Station. We are U-Know Yunho and Max Changmin from TVXQ! but the solo is a foothold to show a different image of TVXQ!, so please look forward to it.”
