TicketBox suffered a system crash on July 28 as fans scrambled to book tickets for the highly-anticipated Vietnam concert of JYJ. TicketBox is the official ticket partner for the concert.
The ticketing agency started selling its first round of sales on the day at 8:00PM local time for JYJ’s first ever concert in Vietnam, which is scheduled for August 30. The agency offered a 15 percent discount for fans who purchase R and S zones early and a chance to win exclusive JYJ merchandise. At the same time, the sales for VIP zones took place and in just three minutes, the ticket site went down due to traffic overload.
This incident was considered one of the rare cases ever recorded in Vietnam for an international K-pop show. The organizer, TOV Communications, later apologized to JYJ fans in its Facebook page and reassured that they would resolve the problem at its fastest. TicketBox went back online shortly after and the VIP tickets were seen to sell out at a quick pace. Four out of ten VIP zones were sold out within 20 minutes later.
Even today, fans are still intensely trying to book their tickets and secure their seats for the show on the night of August 30 in Quân Khu 7 Stadium. It was also reported that after five hours the start of sales, over 2,000 tickets were sold, an impressive figure for the current ticket sales situation in the Vietnam market.
There are four types of tickets: VIP zone of 3,500,000 VND, R zone of 2,500,000 VND, S zone of 2,500,000 VND, and A zone. A zones will be announced in the second round of sales.
